# Contents

`POST /v1/contents`

Returns the readable text of a public web page.

## Request body

- `url` (string): Required. A public http(s) URL. Pages that cannot be read return 422 source_not_available; pages that do not exist return 422 page_not_found.

- `tier` (string): auto or flex. flex may take longer to return content. Default: auto

- `max_characters` (integer): Maximum length of the returned text, from 1 to 600,000 characters. Default: 20000

- `livecrawl` (boolean): Fetch the page live instead of using a cached copy. Default: false

- `livecrawl_timeout_ms` (integer): Time limit for the live fetch in milliseconds, from 1,000 to 90,000. Only with livecrawl: true. Defaults to 20,000 for auto and 90,000 for flex.

## Response

- `url` (string): Page URL.

- `title` (string): Page title, when available.

- `published_at` (string): Publication time, when available.

- `image_url` (string): Main page image, when available.

- `content` (string): Page text.

- `truncated` (boolean): true when the page is longer than max_characters.

- `image_urls` (string[]): Image URLs found on the page.
